![]() So this would workaround any eventual flaw in the HiRes FLAC decoding of the Gustarender." ![]() If you set "Audio decode is PCM for: All audio formats + constraints below" this makes BubbleUPnP Server convert input audio to WAV (with no loss of quality) It is possible its FLAC decoder has a problem with HiRes (assuming you can play 44.1/16 FLAC fine). "The log shows that your Gustarender is becoming unresponsive to UPnP commands just after being instructed to play a 96 kHz / 24-bit FLAC from MinimServer. I thought it was a BubbleUPnP problem and wrote to them and attached the logs. Roons interface IMHO is easily the best interface out there, but I don't do local music storage and playback so I am not going to spend the $190/yr anymore just for the interface which is basically all that I am using roon for.I also had trouble playing 24-96 and 24-192 files via BubbleUPnP server. For people that are using Volumio, how do you explore and look for new music? Do you use the streaming service app for discovery and then add it to playlists or add the album or artist? I have looked but do not see much in terms of exploration with Volumio. My question is just using Volumio sounds just as good as roon or Tidal connect and I don't mind the interface. There is intermittent audible clicking in ROON as well when streaming from my NUC through the ROON interface playing through Volumio. So I am betting the SHD has a horrible usb interface (likely the case with the unit being $1300). The distortion I hear from the NUC is not present when I go USB directly into my DAC. I recently added an SHD into my system and find the sound quality improved with the SHD when I stream using Tidal Connect over my Intel NUC running roon ROCK usb into the SHD. I have been a long time roon user with Tidal/Qobuz. Subreddit's theme is /r/Minimaluminiumalism.
